Dog Zone saved our home! We love our animals, but our dog Draco was a serious handful. Super high anxiety/high energy. We tried so many things to get him to calm down and work with us. It almost got to the point that we had to give him up. Thankfully that is no longer needed! The trainers at dog zone really made him understand his role in our home and help us help him find a purpose and outlet for all his energy. These trainers aren’t going to magically make your dog perfect, but they do make a world of difference! Obviously with a dog like ours we know we still have work to do, but I’m not kidding he is night and day better at settling down and staying in his place when told! I can’t say enough good things about the people at Dog Zone! We sent our puppy to the puppy pre-school and he now attends daycare once a week. The trainers and owner truly care about dogs and it is their mission to make everyone’s life more joyful with a well-trained dog! They have spent so much time answering my questions and even offered me a quick mini lesson when our puppy forgot how to loose leash walk (which was totally our fault). Our puppy learned valuable foundational skills at puppy pre-school like sit, settle, come, leave it, and leash training. He is a pleasure to walk now! We will definitely be following up with one of Dog Zone’s more advanced trainings when our dog is older. We reached out to Dog Zone and he started going to daycare and attended puppy preschool! At the end two trainers spent over an hour with us teaching us how to train Max, giving us ideas for K9 enrichment tools, and even made us a snuffel mat! Max still attends daycare weekly and is such a good puppy for us. Don't get me wrong he still has his days, but we have the tools to help us correctly train and enjoy him! He now goes everywhere with us, and the socialization he gets with other dogs at Dog Zone is invaluable. We can text or call Dog Zone with any questions and they are always so helpful and responsive. I highly recommend at least going through one of the training courses just to better understand K9 psychology, and how to (and how not to) respond to any behavior issues that arise. They were instrumental in helping us crate train Max (who was very stubborn about it), and now he is excellent at going to his safe space. They will tell you, it's all in the follow through at home, but they certainly set us up for success for our Max! Love ot there and love the trainers. They provide intensive, highly disciplined exercises in a variety of locations and situations. Staff does a very effective, consistent job of communicating with and supporting the owner/handler. They develop a great training manual individualized for your dog upon return home. After care is also offered where staff will teach and work with the dog’s family and assist with problems. My foster dog, a lab mix, who had been in a shelter and seemed unbonded, made remarkable progress after his 6 week training program. He became calmer with more self control and ability to focus and far less reactive. His training has allowed him to be more responsive to humans, able to begin playing and interacting like a companion animal and begin to bond. He now has a new adoptive home and hope for a good life.
